私の考えや理念

私の考えや理念

イギリスEnglish Setter Associationのメンバーに加わる

2006年にイギリスEnglish Setter Associationのメンバーに加わる事が出来ました。イギリス以外の諸外国ではデンマークやスウェーデンなど、ヨーロッパが多数ですがアジアで初めて旧SHINE STARが加入致しました。

毎年一度4月に発行されるイヤーブックです。

イヤーブック別冊にて私が送ったイングリッシュセターに関する思いや、日本に於いての現状や将来の夢、などを掲載して下さいました。

I am Shigeru Kaizaki from Japan. I am so delighted that I have been able to join ESA with a help of Ms G. A. Williams. I have been enjoying dogs in breeding them, showing them and hunting with them.Ever since I was a child, I have always dreamed of England as the origin of English Setters, and my dream came true two years ago when I went to CRUFTS for the first time. There, I was overwhelmed by the largeness of scale in number and quality of dogs, number of breeders, and the way you were enjoying the show. Everything was beyond comparison to Japan. I still remember the great excitement I felt when, as a child, I encountered an English Setter for the first time, but the excitement I felt at the CRUFTS was even greater.What amazed me most was the quality of your dogs. I had been trying to create Japan-bred English Setters with my mentor, who, with a great love toward dogs, had been breeding Setters for sixty years, and I was so shocked to see such a great difference between English dogs and Japanese dogs.After a lot of considerations, I went back to the CRUFTS the next year, and I was led to think that I should breed dogs of English lineage. But that posed many problems to I had to solve, such as changes in the ways I created dogs, and how I should open the new ways to creating dogs. Still, now that I had seen the REAL ones with my own eyes, I thought that I wanted to, and had to obtain them by all means.At that time, I had a male and a female that had come from WISTASTON RAVENSETT. I got them seven years ago because I was already aware, to some extent, of the need of English lineage. With that connection, I contacted Ms Williams, and with her generous effort, I have been able to obtain membership in ESA. It is a great honour for me, and I am very grateful.Now that I am added to you, the best club members in the world, it is my personal goal to show my dogs in England and enjoy handling them with you. I’d like to ask for your understanding and cooperation.I realize that it is very important to get English Setter’s fans in Japan have good understanding. I am aware thar it is more important than making my dreams come true.It will never be realized without the good lineage of yours, who are the top breeders of England. If I can have your understanding and cooperation, I will tell of this privilege to English Setter’s fans in Japan, teach them the manners and philosophy to those who want English Setters of English lineage, let them have pride, and thus building up our own club worthy of your understanding.Then, when they find happiness in life through keeping the dogs, it is my wish to engage in volunteer activities for the society with them.There aren’t many English Setters from England here in Japan, and it is hard to estimate how the number will grow. However, if the number of fans increases to the point where we can hold our own show, I would like to invite Ms. Williams and all of you members of ESA to be the judges.I recognize the above points as my responsibilities and my goals in Japan. While I put my best effort to accomplish them, I would appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.

My philosophy (also to be the philosophy of my club)

・We will not trade the dogs we have bred with money.
・When we hand over our dogs, we will meet the new owner to be in person, and make sure the person has good understanding about the dog.
・We will be responsible for the dog’s life.
・We will breed the dogs without ruining the English lineage.
・We will not seek personal profits nor reputations. Every member should be treated equally.

Reasons for the philosophy:
In Japanese society these days where having pets is a fashion, I have seen many people fail after seeking profits and personal reputations. In most cases, victims are the dogs, often resulting in the end of their lineages. This kind of thing won’t happen if each breeder behave with good manners, but it seems very difficult to put on the brakes to their expanding desire. Therefore, I put up my philosophy to avoid such situations, and to have genuin English Setters loved in Japan for ever. I believe the most important thing is that people and dogs live happily together.

私は日本の海崎茂です。このたびG・A WILLIAMSさんのご配慮によりESAのメンバーとなる事が出来ました。ブリーディング・ドッグショー・狩猟と楽しんで参りました。
Eセターの原産国は英国という事で、子供の頃から憧れ、夢見て来ました。そしてようやく２年前にCRUFTSを見学する事が出来、犬の数・犬の質・ブリーダーの人数・ショー会場での楽しみ方など、それは日本とは比べ物にならないスケールの大きさに感激致しました。子供の頃、初めてEセターを見た時以上に身体の芯から興奮していました。そして何より私を愕然とさせたのは、犬の質でした。日本に於いて60年以上もの間Eセターをこよなく愛し、ブリーディングを続けて来た恩師がおりますが、共に作り上げてきた日本のEセターと、本場英国のEセターを比べた時のあまりの違いにショックを受けました。そして色々考え、１年後にまたCRUFTSに出かけた私は、出来る事ならば英国の血統で今後は犬作りをしたいと考えるようになりました。それには今までしてきた犬作りを改めなければならない事や、新しい犬作りの道をどう切り開いて行くかなど、たくさんの事がありました。しかし本物を目の当たりにした今、どうしてもそれを手に入れたいと思いまた、手にしなければいけないと思っています。元々日本に於いて英国の血統が必要なのは頭では分かっていたので、縁あって７年前にWISTASTON・RVEVSETTさんより来たオスメスが私の手元におりましたので、その縁を頼りにWILLIAMSさんにご協力を求めESAのメンバーに入れていただける事となりました。私にとって最高の栄誉と、感謝しております。犬作りを通して私自身が最高のクラブメンバーの皆様の中に加えていただいた今、皆様のご理解とご協力によりブリーディングした犬を英国のドッグショーに出陳し、ESAの皆様と楽しくハンドリングが出来る事が今の私個人の夢となっております。それには日本国内でブリーディングをする上で純粋にEセターファンの理解を求めて行かなければならに事も自分の夢を叶える以上に大切な事だと改めて感じています。英国のトップブリーダーの方々の歴史ある血統を譲っていただかなければ出来ない事ですので、ご理解とご協力をいただけるのであれば、私はその栄誉を日本のEセターファンに伝え、英国の血統のEセターを望む人たちにマナーと理念を掲げその理念を実行し、飼う人たちに誇りを持っていただき英国のブリーダーの方々のご理解に背く事の無い会を作り上げて行きたいと考えています。そして日本のファン達が犬を飼う事で生活が楽しくなれたなら、みんなで社会の役に立つボランティア活動をして行きたいと考えております。日本ではEセターが少ないのでこれからどの位増えていくか分かりませんが、ショーを開けるぐらいの人数が集まりましたらWILLIAMSさんをはじめ、ESAのメンバーの方を日本へご招待したいと思いますので、ぜひその時はジャッジをしていただきたいと思っております。この様な日本国内に於いての責任と自分の夢を実現出来る様、私は頑張りますのでESAメンバーの方々のご理解後協力をぜひともよろしくお願い致します。

私の理念　（これはいずれ会の理念にしたいと思います。）
＊ ブリーディングした犬を金銭で売買しない
＊ 飼っていただく方は直接会って理解のある方に譲る
＊ 犬の生涯を責任を持って飼育する
＊ 英国の血統を崩さずにブリーディングする
＊ 個人の利益・名声を追求せず、全ての人が平等である事

理念の根拠…
日本国内のペットブーム・ペット社会を見ていて、金銭や個人の名声を求めすぎて崩壊する事が多い。そして何よりも飼育する犬達に被害が及ぶ事が多いのです。よってその血統が途絶えてしまう事をしばしば目にして来ました。本来ならば個人の人がマナーを持っていればこの様な事も起きないのですが、なかなか人の欲望にブレーキは効かなくなるようです。したがって私は理念を掲げこの様な事が起きない事で永久に英国の血統のEセターが日本で愛されるように進めたいと考えているのです。人も犬も幸せに暮らせる事が一番大切だと思います。
